"TURN IT AROUND" - HUTCH (aka Joe Normal)
2001 was the year Los Angeles based Power Pop label Smile Records (Image Entertainment) launched with its first releases by The Knack, Brian Wilson's future backing band The Wondermints, Americana singer songwriter Carla Olson, and The Romantics guitarist Coz Canler's Supremium.
To celebrate the label's 20th Anniversary, Smile Records (Liberation Hall) is re-releasing several titles including HUTCH's "Turn It Around," an underground power pop favorite by the artist now known as JOE NORMAL®
HUTCH's title track "Turn It Around" comes as a timely reminder, albeit 20 years after its initial release, to keep it positive, offering encouragement and optimism in these uncertain times. However, the disc's biggest treat is the five bonus tracks, which include a glam rockin' cover of Buddy Holly's "Maybe Baby" and the spaced-out guitar attack and hooky vocal harmonies of "Love Takes Time (She's Got Me Flying)" featuring Imperial Drag drummer Eric Skodis.
Fans of Cheap Trick and The Smithereens will enjoy re-discovering this previous effort by Joe Normal, one underground rock and pop's authentic greats.

"STUCK IN A JOB" b/w "LIVING IN THE BOROUGH" - Joe Normal & The Anytown'rs
New Jersey-cum-California rockers JOE NORMAL & THE ANYTOWN'RS are speaking up with their latest single, "Stuck In A Job," a working class pub-rock / guitar-pop anthem that expresses the frustrations of pandemic work restrictions and unemployment set-backs many professional performing musicians are facing currently.
"We've built our livelihoods in the pubs and bars and concert venues where regular working people come together to drink, socialize, celebrate and commiserate. Despite the ongoing lockdowns, I intend to stay connected with our fans and concert-going family to unite and uplift each other, which is the intent of this new single.
So many people are hating their jobs right now with the constantly changing guidelines and restrictions, not to mention the isolation and intimidation we all feel. We all feel powerless in our employment situations, so it's good to turn that frustration around and laugh about it a bit while we figure out how to take our power back." - Joe Normal
Comprised of members of Dramarama ("Anything, Anything"), Izzy Stradlin band (Guns n Roses), The Zeros, and Aimee Mann, JOE NORMAL leads his explosive group THE ANYTOWN'RS from the bright and jangly opening chords of this bar room rocker thru the uplifting and instantly memorable choruses of a song that will raise your spirits, and a beer glass or two.
Often compared to artists such as Paul Westerberg, Bruce Springsteen, and Jesse Malin, Joe's latest single is sure to connect with listeners of Little Steven's Underground Garage, Sirius XM U indie rock channel, and US college radio.
Out December 11, 2020 on California's fast emerging Big Stir Records, "Stuck In A Job" marks the third release from Joe Normal & The Anytown'rs on the Burbank, CA indie label.
Backed with "Living In The Borough," an acoustic driven introspection of teenage trouble and family tragedy which finds a young Joe Normal in the throes of escapism, searching for deliverance in blue collar America. Embittered by the Domestic Violence abuses and child Vaccination Damage he's witnessed, he struggles to accept his meager place among the average folk in his working class town.
THE ANYTOWN'RS close out 2020 on an uplifting note with a free live-stream on Saturday December 19th at 6:00 PM PST (9:00PM EST) at www.CreativeXchange.io
Come meet us in Anytown, U.S.A... and enjoy your stay.
