Joe Normal & The Anytown'rs offer up this ferocious cover of a Motown classic by The Four Tops. The lead single from their "From Anytown In The USA" album.
Straight out of Anytown USA, Joe Normal & The Anytown'rs arrive with a ferocious cover of The Four Tops' "REACH OUT (I'LL BE THERE)," a timeless Motown anthem of love, friendship, and brotherhood.
"Reach Out (I'll Be There)" is the lead single for this upbeat collection titled "FROM ANYTOWN IN THE USA," and features a powerful vocal performance and electrifying guitar work from Joe Normal himself, while the ballsy bass guitar and pounding drum rhythms of Anytown'rs Tony Babylon and Tony Snow help to elevate this soul gem to a new level of intensity and sincerity with rock aplomb.
Followed by ten additional tracks, beginning with the delicious Power Pop candy of "INTO THE CITY TONIGHT," Joe takes the listener on a road trip across the bridges and tunnels of New Jersey into New York City to escape the doldrums of small town America.
Not only do the melodies and jangly guitars, Working Class stories and themes, and top shelf musicianship make this full length'r a solid overall package, but the choice of covers and how the band interprets them reveals an artist and band that surely have their own chemistry and style. Covers of Prince & The Revolution's "Take Me With U" from the "Purple Rain" soundtrack and The Who's "Going Mobile" will appeal to fans of Classic Rock, Power Pop, and Garage Rock.
Rapidly emerging as a Singer Songwriter who fronts a rock band, Joe Normal is often compared to Bruce Springsteen, Paul Westerberg, and Jesse Malin. A founding member of 90's Sunset Strip glam- pop legends The Zeros, Joe co-wrote the title track to Sammy Hagar’s “Not 4 Sale” LP, and even recorded with punk icon Stiv Bators & The Lords of The New Church.
The Anytown'rs collective resume includes work and gigs with Guns 'n Roses' Izzy Stradlin and Gilby Clarke, Dramarama, Sylvain Sylvain (NY Dolls), Dogs D'Amour, The Alarm, Gin Blossoms, Elliott Smith, Aimee Mann, and Howard Stern.
